TITLE - Giant Colon makes its way across Ontario - Kingston, Ontario
(voiceover from exhibit)
"Prepare yourself to journey inside the Giant Colon..."
TITLE - Adam Collier - Kingston Resident
"To be honest, I actually heard about it on the radio - I just wanted to check it out and see what it was like to walk through a Giant Colon."
TITLE - Dr. Hugh Langley - Southeast Regional Cancer Program
"We have an interactive display - the colon is about 40 feet long and 8 feet in diameter, and it allows kids, adults, anyone to walk through, and learn how you can reduce your risk of developing colorectal and other cancers."
(voiceover from child attending the exhibit)
"Go inside!"
(father of child)
"How many times did you go through?"
(child)
"Um... six times."
(father of child)
"Six times!"
Adam Collier - Kingston Resident
"I guess I learned a couple of things - you know, what pollops look like, what cancer looks like, stuff like that. You walk by and, you know, you get hit by one and it's like 'Wow,' I could have one of those in my colon."
TITLE - Julia Niblett - Director, Regional Cancer Prevention and Screening Program
"You really start with prevention screening - we can detect if there is any cancer there early, which allows you to have more treatment options, and to obviously be cured of that."
TITLE - Ronald Basdeo - Communications-Exhibits, Colorectal Cancer Assoc. of Canada
"We're looking to shoot for 2,000 people per day - we're on a 10-city quest right now, and we're trying to hopefully get 40,000 people through the exhibit to promote awareness."
(Woman attending the exhibit)
"It's almost a humorous way to address learning, or to address your health - an interesting way, rather than just reading it in a newspaper or in a book."
Adam Collier - Kingston Resident
"It's definitely a dangerous disease, and in previous generations it was either unknown or just not talked about - that kind of cancer. So, the more knowledge helps everybody, right?"
