Learn About Breast Screening Centres

Dr. Rene
Radiologist - Ontario Breast Screening

I'm a radiologist and I analyze mammograms. Screening mammograms can be had in hospitals or independent health facilities. When you go to have a mammogram you will register and then one of the staff members will take you through the process; the mammogram itself does not take very long. During the mammogram you'll feel some pressure on your breast; it's very similar to the feeling you get when you have your blood pressure taken, but it only lasts for a few seconds.

You should have a screening mammogram in order to find breast cancer at a very early stage before any symptoms would appear. Your doctor will get the results and schedule whatever follow up is necessary.

For women it's very important to have a mammogram, it's a part of maintaining good health.
