John Williams, Mayor of Quinte West:

"Quinte West never really had a recreation facility in the city before, so we put together a plan a couple
years ago, and came forward with it, and with the help of the provincial government, we were able to
put this beautiful building together. $13 million project, $4 million came from the province, and without their help it wouldn't be a reality today."

Dalton McGuinty, Premiere of Ontario:

"I wanna say we are very pleased and proud to partner with Quinte West.

When the mayor asked that we might commit ourselves to this joint venture. Now, this opened up I think it was about a year ago, you may recall about a year ago where we stood.

We were in the depths of the darkest recession. Businesses world-wide, including some here in Ontario, were closing their doors. At the very time we were opening these doors together, and I think that represents a powerful confidence in this community, in our shared quality of life."

Staff Member:
"I'm one of the personal trainers, so they come in, they tell us...."

Ron Riddell, General Manager, YMCA of the City of Quinte West:

"We have a very diverse programming. The Y is accessible to everyone, regardless of race, religion, creed, colour, physical ability or even financial ability. Right now its summertime here, and we have a number of different summer camps as well."

John Williams, Mayor of Quinte West:
"Its been a great addition to our city and its been nothing but a great success."
