Celebration Marks Official Opening of Four Buildings
Part of Regent Park Revitalization

Azizur Rahman – Tenant, Regent Park
I’ve lived in Regent Park for almost like 15 years now. I have three children. We were not even very comfortable to go out and come in. Housing has given me the opportunity to go to my goal. When the idea came about the Revitalization, it is really very fortunate for me and now I am a totally new person, living in the same area.

Keiko Nakamura, Toronto Community Housing's CEO - OneCole Presentation Centre, Regent Park
The Regent Park Revitalization process includes parks, agencies, services, new community centre, aquatic centre, but also having a mixed income neighbourhood, which is absolutely critically important. We have the first grocery store entering into Regent Park for residents, a new banking system. They can now be very proud of the communities they live in.

Pamela Matahoo – Tenant, Regent Park
When I moved here it was like living in the lap of luxury. I get up every morning early to look at the sun rising and I am so excited about growing my plants in the summer time. My rent is very affordable; it’s a green building, it has all the amenities that you can dream of and there is a lot of room for getting involved with the community, and anybody who’s heard that I moved here, they’ve asked me…”how come you became so lucky to move into such a wonderful building?”
